Indian cricketer Asha Sobhana: There are quite a lot of stakes for the India vs. Pakistan cricket world cup match, as both teams are desperate to win so that they may advance from the group stages.
After a sluggish the powerplay, Pakistan’s opener Muneeba Ali, 26, was batting at 14 and tried to reach a boundary with a scoop-flick over fine leg. She didn’t receive enough credit, though, and it seemed that she chose Asha Sobhana.
Soon after the powerplay came to a conclusion, Asha spilled the ball and gave the Pakistani wicketkeeper a reprieve since he was unable to hold onto a fairly routine opportunity.

The cameras first showed a dejected Asha responding to the dismissal. Then they switched to Pakistani all-rounder Aliya Riaz, who was seated in the changing room and grinned shyly at his team’s good fortune.
Luckily for Asha, Shreyanka Patil defeated Muneeba in the air as she prepared to drop and launch an attack, so the drop wouldn’t cost much. Richa Ghosh stumped her for a laborious 17(26), so Asha’s drop didn’t do too much harm.
But history would repeat itself when Asha dismissed a flayed cut shot by Fatima Sana in the 13th over, again off bowling Arundhati Reddy, who was left furious at the two drops. Even though this was a more difficult opportunity, Asha’s teammates made up with her following the difficult moments in the game.
Asha was brought in to bowl the next over, and even though Fatima struck her for two boundaries, Asha had the last laugh when wicketkeeper Ghosh grabbed a cutting edge wonderfully to dismiss the dangerous Pakistani batsman, who had been the star of their opening victory over Sri Lanka.
At the end of 14 overs, Pakistan are down to 70-6 and every Indian bowler that has been employed thus far has taken a wicket. The seasoned Nida Dar will attempt to steadily build the innings in an effort to pose a challenging score for India, who are coming off a valiant effort in a losing cause against New Zealand.
