Complete List Of Former Indian Players: The Indian Premier League (IPL) governing body revealed the IPL 2025 mega auction retention guidelines on Sunday. There was an addition to the IPL franchises’ maximum retention cap of six players, including one unregistered player. In preparation of the scheduled IPL 2025 mega auction, an outdated law which had been in place since 2008 and had been repealed in 2022 was reinstated back. According to that law, Indian players that haven’t participated in a global match for more than five years are permitted to be classified as “unrestricted players.”
If IPL teams decide to keep all six retentions, they will need to pay at least Rs 4 crore to hold one uncapped player. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the iconic leader of India, may be retained by Chennai Super Kings, or CSK, until only a brief amount of time thanks to a new law approved by the Governing Council.
“If an Indian player who is capped does not have a Central Contract with the BCCI, or if the player does not participate in the starting XI for an international cricket match (Test match, ODI, or twenty-20 International) within the five calendar years prior to the relevant Adjust the seasoning, the player would lose their cap. Only Indian players would be able to use that, the BCCI said in a release.
