Chelsea is not prepared to dump the £89 million

Chelsea is not prepared to dump: Mykhailo He was bought by Chelsea for £89 millions at Shakhtar Donetsk, but after arriving in early 2023, the young Ukrainian winger has run into problems. Although being only 23 years aged, Mudryk has had a difficult time establishing an impact, only registering seven scores & seven assists in 66 games for the Blue.

Chelsea had no intention of cutting relations with Mudryk in the forthcoming January trade window, notwithstanding the lackluster performances. As reported by journalist David Jacobs, executive coach Enzo Maresca is still upbeat about Mudryk’s prospects.

Chelsea is not prepared to dump the £89 million disaster:

Maresca sees him as an important player, especially when he faces Jadon Sancho for the left wing position. This assurance shows how much the team believes Mudryk can turn things around and contribute significantly.

Mudryk has made just one start in the Premier League thus far this season. He has, however, played in more cup tournaments, totaling 425 minutes on the pitch in eight appearances across all competitions, five of which were starts. This suggests that even though he hasn’t been as active in the league, Maresca still has him very much in mind.

The reality that Mudryk has an agreement with Chelsea until 2031 demonstrates how important the club is to him in the long run. But given his recent performance, there are questions about whether he could start to lose value. Chelsea faces a big dilemma in trying to balance their large expenditure with the requirement for noticeable results on the field.

Mudryk’s situation is further complicated by Chelsea’s fierce rivalry for starting positions. Because there are so many skilled players competing for every spot, Maresca has a lot of freedom in his choices. This implies, though, that players like as Mudryk may find themselves sitting on the bench more frequently than expected. Chelsea has no current plans to pursue this option, despite rumors of a possible loan move to help him rediscover form and confidence.

In the next games, Mudryk is keen to get more playing time and establish his value. On October 20, a pivotal match against league leaders Liverpool offers him a fantastic chance to show off his skills and validate Chelsea’s significant investment in him.
