Cristiano Ronaldo: After Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment in Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo addressed his contentious departure and issued a warning that the team needs a complete overhaul.
Ronaldo is optimistic about United’s future, even though Ratcliffe recently purchased a 27.7% share in the team. However, he cautions that getting back to the top division of club football will take time.
“I think United has to rebuild everything,” 39-year-old Ronaldo stated.
“This club needs time to rebuild because it’s still one of the best clubs in the world, but they need to change. They realize that. There isn’t another route. They are making investments in the training area. That’s why I’m pleased that [things are changing]. I think things will get better in the future.
“They must start over from scratch. They can’t compete if they can’t. It won’t be feasible. They can perform well and win the Carabao Cup, for example, but I think it would be challenging for them to win the Champions League, Europa League, or Premier League. And although it will be challenging, I hope I’m mistaken.”
Following leaving, Cristiano relocated to Saudi Arabia, where he has been a key player for Al Nassr even though he has not won any championship there yet.
Cristiano stated, “I’m not satisfied with the way it all happened, but in the same way, there are occasions when we cannot influence some aspects of our lives.”
This is no longer a matter for me to prove whether I’m correct or incorrect.
Cristiano Ronaldo:
After an intense interview with Piers Morgan in which he blasted the Manchester United team for not investing in the thirteen years after he originally left Old Trafford, Ronaldo and the club mutually split ways.
Even if his return to United from Juventus in 2021 did not work out, he stated he does not regret it and that he simply wishes for “the best” following his unceremoniously exited United in November 2022.
Ronaldo remarked, “I said what I had to say and for me it’s done.” To tell the truth, though, my wishes are not for Manchester United; rather, they are for myself. The greatest team they can assemble, once more, and I adore that team—I’m not the type of person who forgets the past.”
“I was really happy when I went back there,” Ronaldo continued. “Among the top scorers was myself. With the club, I accomplished incredible feats—I was amazing.”
Ronaldo, who played for United for two stints totaling 145 goals in 346 appearances, acknowledged that he found manager Erik ten Hag’s philosophy difficult to work with.
Ronaldo added, “You cannot tell the Manchester United coach that you won’t fight to win the League or Champions League.” It is necessary for you to mentally state, “Listen, perhaps we are not capable of that, but I can’t say that.” We are going to give it a shot. You must give it a shot.
Additionally, Ronaldo has praised Ruud van Nistelrooy, his former United colleague, for being named Ten Hag’s assistant manager. Given that Ruud was inside the club, I think he will be able to assist.
said Ronaldo. “He is familiar with the club. He knows the fans. I believe they can make a small improvement to the club if the coach pays attention to him. The majority of people (99%) who comprehend football are former players who were there in the locker room.”
So far this season, United has played three Premier League games; they have won one and lost two.
This season, United is 1-2 in the Premier League.
